As the marketing and communications lead the UN Global Compact Network Canada, Şimâl is leading the creative campaigns that enhance awareness, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and support the organization's mission. Their experience spans UX research, policy advocacy, brand design, and learning & development, giving them a multidisciplinary approach to marketing and storytelling.
Previously, Şimâl was the marcomms lead at the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, where they directed the organization's communications and branding strategy, working with provincial and federal governments on high visibility campaigns supporting key industry programs and events. They has also held roles with OTEC and eCampus Ontario, focusing on user experience research, and digital learning strategies.
In addition to their nonprofit and public sector work, Şimâl is an award-winning visual artist and designer who has collaborated with clients including wmnsWORK and Labour Party UK. Most recently, they served on the board of LubunTO, a non-profit organization supporting queer immigrants.
